CBI SCOTLAND MEMBERS RECEIVE QUEENSFERRY CROSSING BRIEFING

CBI Scotland members this afternoon (19 April) attended an exclusive briefing for business leaders on the impact of the eagerly awaited Queensferry Crossing as it approaches completion.
 
More than 30 senior business executives heard presentations on the project from Transport Scotland personnel, including David Climie, Project Director for the Forth Replacement Crossing Project, hosted by Transport Scotland at its contact and control centre overlooking the Firth of Forth.

All change – but business as usual!

 

The Board of Sign Plus Ltd, Fifes award-winning Sign Design, Installation and Maintenance company based in Dalgety Bay and employing some 34 staff has announced that, following an approach, their majority shareholding in the company has been acquired by Rymack Sign Solutions Ltd of Manchester, part of the PFI Group. The deal was concluded last week after a period of negotiation and officially announced to staff yesterday (Wednesday 19th April).

District Heat Distribution Network - Public Consultation Event

Plans are underway to construct the "District Heat Distribution Network" which will take advantage of the current low carbon heat capacity from the RWE biomass plant in Markinch and may affect businesses located in or near Glenrothes Town Centre.

Any businesses falling into this area are warmly welcomed to attend Fife Councils public consultation event  being held on Thursday 27th April 2017 to find out about the proposed works.

Scottish Rate Tax

Scottish taxpayers dwelling in Scotland will, as of next month (April 2017), be subject to income tax rates and bands set by the Scottish Parliament. 

The bands for Scottish rate tax payers will differ from the rest of the UK with higher rate tax being paid earlier than in the rest of the UK - full details can be obtained from the Scottish Government Website
